Arlo Guthrie's The Lost World Tour PosterWaterman Communities and The Mount Dora Library Association presented “An Evening with Arlo Guthrie, The Lost World Tour”on Saturday, February 28th, 2009 at 7:30 pm at the Christian Home and Bible School Field House. ┬áSinger, Songwriter Arlo Guthrie’s 18-minute talking blues, which protested the war in Vietnam, appeared on his first album, Alice’s Restaurant, in 1967 and came to represent the late 1960s. It was adapted into a 1969 movie by director Arthur Penn. Guthrie is a living link to traditional American folk music. His father, folk pioneer Woody Guthrie, learned from blues singer Huddie “Leadbelly” Ledbetter, and was close friends with Pete Seeger and the singing group, the Weavers.
